Quirin Bäumler

The exhibition Monk, Mother and Wound is a selection of works of the German artist Quirin Bäumler. The installation consists of sculptural objects, inverse forms, a framed drawing, a found image and empty space. Emptiness made visible by its surroundings. Baumler shapes clay that turns into nothing after casting. He tangibly penetrates the surface and inverts the inside and the outside, trying to capture that which lacks any substance. An empty form reduced ad absurdum. Matter as evidence of metaphysics.

Výstava s názvem Mnich, matka a zranění, představuje výběr z práce německého umělce Quirina Bäumlera. Instalaci tvoří sochařské objekty, inverzní formy, zarámovaná kresba, nalezená fotografie a prázdný prostor. Prázdno je zviditelněné tím, co ho obklopuje. Baumler tvaruje hlínu, ze které po odlití zůstává nic. Hmatatelným způsobem proniká pod povrch, převrací vnitřek a vnějšek. Snaží se ztvárnit to, co nemá substanci. Prázdná forma dovedená ad absurdum. Hmota jako důkaz metafyziky.
