    Roman Štětina was born in Kadaň in 1986. He graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague in 2015 after spending two years on the Städelschule in Frankfurt am Main in the classes Judith Hopf and Douglas Gordon.

    Recent solo shows include: Instruction for Use od Jiří Kolář (with Miroslav Buriánek), Spike Island, Bristol; Shave and a haircut – two bits, Cardiff Contemporary, curated by Louise Hobson; The Fortress of Solitude from the holy wood of eternal noise (with Larisa Sitar), MNAC Bucharest, curated by Anca V. Mihulet. Recent selected group shows include: 2018: It's a Trap!, Significant Other, Vienna; 2017: Theory of Ghosts, TIC Gallery, Brno; 2016: Manifesta 11, Zurich; Enacting Stillness, The 8th Floor, New York; Happy Like Yesterday, NEST, Den Haag; A school of gestures, Czech China Contemporary, Beijing; 2015: All Watched Over, James Cohan Gallery, New York; Silver Lining, National Gallery, Prague; 2014: Jindrich Chalupecky Award, National Gallery, Prague; Straight to Camera: Performance for Film, Modern Art Oxford; IV.     His work is shown nationally and internationally and he lives and works in Prague, Czech Republic
